Encouragement and Mistakes

"When we pay constant attention to mistakes, we discourage our children. We cannot build on weakness - only on strength"

Rudolf Dreikurs

Our children need courage to face the world. If we encourage, we help them to build courage. If we discourage, we weaken them.

This is not to say that we should ignore their mistakes. It simply helps them more to focus and emphasise growth and building strength, than to constantly correct and reprimand.

Children thrive on encouragement.
